Today we went to the Wooddale Fun Zone.  For many it was their first ride on a school bus.

To celebrate the end of the school year we had an ice cream party with all of our friends.

Today we went outside and practiced printing our name with water.

Later we played at the playground.

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our concert today.

The children did a fantastic job singing.  I was very proud of them.

Each child was recognized during the concert.

Everyone enjoyed some cookies and juice after the performance.

St. Pascal’s Junior Kindergarten Class of 2016.

It may have been raining outside but that did not dampen our spirits for Fun and Fitness Day.  We were ready to have some fun.

The Preschool and Junior Kindergarten classes were divided up into four teams.  The teams were Thunder Duckies, Ninja, Raptors, and Minions.

Mrs. Lansing planned many fun games for us to play.

What an exciting couple of days we have had in Junior Kindergarten!  Our caterpillars are now butterflies!  The kids were excited to see that one was out of it’s chrysalis when they came to school on Tuesday.

They had fun watching them the past couple of days.

We released the butterflies on Wednesday afternoon.  The children spontaneously said “Goodbye butterfly!” as each one flew away.

On April 30th I received five caterpillars in the mail.  Since then the children have been watching them grow and change.  As of Friday, the caterpillars have either formed or are in the process of forming their chrysalis.

We also talked about the life cycle of a butterfly.

We learned that a butterfly’s wings are symmetrical.  The students had a chance to color their own butterfly with symmetrical wings.

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, Ms. Paula came to our room and helped us make salsa.  Each student had a chance to mix the ingredients together.  Our favorite part was eating the salsa.  Thank you Ms. Paula!

It was so much fun meeting all the grandparents and special friends today.  We hope you enjoyed your visit to our school.

This week in class our theme was weather.  We read the book “It Looked Like Spilt Milk”.  In the book clouds looked like different objects or people.  The students had a chance to make their own cloud from paint and tell what they thought it looked like to them.
